Whole Truth Ministries is opening a new drop-in center on the east side of Dayton called The Well — a safe, welcoming place where men can come just as they are and find real help, real hope, and real connection.

Located at 1804 E 3rd St, Dayton, OH, The Well is designed to be a low-barrier front door to recovery for men facing addiction, homelessness, reentry, instability, or simply not knowing where to turn next.

At The Well, a man does not have to be sober, stable, cleaned up, or “ready” before he walks through the door. He just has to come.

Our heart is to meet the whole person — mind, body, spirit, relationships, and practical needs — right where he is. That may start with a hot meal, a warm shower, clean clothes, hygiene supplies, or a safe place to take a breath. But it does not end there.

The Well is also a place for peer support, recovery connection, spiritual encouragement, and relationships that last.

A Place for Practical Help

When someone is hungry, exhausted, or carrying everything they own, it can be hard to think about recovery, housing, treatment, or the future. Basic needs matter because people matter.

The Well will provide support such as:

  • Food and snacks
  • Warm showers
  • Clothing and basic necessities
  • Hygiene items
  • Connection to detox, treatment, recovery, and sober living resources
  • Peer recovery support from people with lived experience

These services are not just “extras.” They are often the first step toward helping someone feel human again — steady enough to take the next step.

A Place for Recovery and Connection

The Well is peer-led, which means men will be welcomed by people who understand the road because many have walked it themselves.

Through peer recovery support, mentoring, recovery conversations, wellness check-ins, and connection to community resources, The Well helps men move from isolation toward relationship, from survival toward stability, and from hopelessness toward purpose.

When a man is ready for the next step, he will not just be handed a phone number and sent away. The goal is to walk with him toward the help he needs.

A Place to Be Spiritually Filled

The name The Well comes from the words of Jesus in John 4:13-14:

“Jesus answered, ‘Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.’”

Meeting physical needs matters. Food matters. Showers matter. Clothing matters. Recovery resources matter.

But at the center of The Well is something even deeper: the hope that men will encounter the love of Jesus in the middle of brokenness.

Whole Truth Ministries believes every person is made with dignity and worth. No matter where someone starts, he is welcomed, respected, and walked with — not processed.

Jesus loves all. Come to The Well and be filled.

How You Can Help

As The Well opens its doors, we are asking the recovery family, churches, partners, and community members to help us serve men with dignity.

Current needs include:

  • Men’s clothing
  • Clothing racks
  • Snacks
  • Hygiene items
  • New socks and boxers
  • Prayer

Most importantly, please pray for the men who will walk through these doors, for the staff and peer supporters who will serve them, and for God to use The Well as a place of healing, recovery, and hope in Dayton.
